Matcha Shortbread
Shortbread is already a contradiction in austerity and opulence. The addition of finely milled green tea powder further complicates matters.
1 c AP flour
1 T matcha powder
1/2 t green tea leaves from a teabag
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 T sugar
1/2 t vanilla extract
1 stick butter
-Pulse in food processor until combined and crumbly
-Roll into log in plastic wrap, chill 30 min
-Slice into rounds about 1/8 inch thick
-Bake at 375 about 12 minutes until just golden around the edges
